Quality Management System (QMS)

The Quality Management System (QMS) is a comprehensive module designed to track, manage, and analyze all aspects of quality control. It integrates issue logging, corrective actions, scheduling, and cost analysis into a cohesive system.

Core Components & Flow

The module is built around a central ticketing system that feeds into various specialized sub-modules. The typical flow is: Issue Reported -> Investigation & CAPA -> Resolution & Monitoring.

  • QMS Dashboard: A high-level overview of all quality metrics, schedules, and recent activities. (File: /quality/qms/page.tsx)
  • Issue Log: A master list of all non-conformance reports and quality-related tickets. (File: /quality/issue-log/page.tsx)
  • CAPA System: A formal process for root cause analysis using the 8D methodology. Initiated from the issue log. (Files: /quality/capa/...)
  • COPQ Dashboard: Visualizes the financial impact of failures, categorized by prevention, appraisal, internal, and external costs. (File: /quality/copq/page.tsx)
  • Schedules & Logs: Includes calendars for audits and CAPA due dates, and logs for inspections and equipment calibration. (Files: /quality/audit-schedule/page.tsx, /quality/inspection-log/page.tsx, etc.)

Key Data Structures

To replicate this, you would need to model these primary data objects in your database (e.g., Firestore collections):

  • Tickets: A central collection for all issues. Each ticket should have a status, priority, description, and links to projects or parts.
  • CAPA Forms: Linked to one or more tickets, this stores the detailed 8D report.
  • Quality Cost Log: A simple ledger of all costs associated with poor quality, categorized for the COPQ dashboard.
  • Inspection Plans: Policies defining inspection requirements for each product.
  • Calibration Log: A record of all equipment, including last calibration and next due date.
